The event pitted a thirty students enrolled in 3rd year of history degreesupervised by Gilles Montègrea teacher and deputy head of the History Department atUFR ARSH atuniversité Grenoble Alpes.

The students were divided into three groups for the occasion: Galileo's defenders, his opponents, and members of the jury of the Holy Roman Inquisition... Trained increative teaching within the Promising workshops, Gilles Montègre was the coordinator of these sessions. The aim was not to produce a realistic reconstruction of Galileo's trial, but rather to put into practice the rich history of scientific controversy with the support of an experiment in pedagogical creativity.
