Master's degree in art history "History, techniques and theories of the visual arts" course
This course :
Introduces students to various analytical tools and methodological approaches in art history, in connection with the specialties of the department's teacher-researchers;
Raise awareness of current French and international research through seminars, scientific meetings and, depending on the year, study trips;
Training in the study of collections, particularly public collections;
Familiarizes students with the challenges and institutions of the academic world (laboratory internships, specific courses), to prepare them for further doctoral studies;
Enables professional integration in other fields (publishing, museums, tourism, etc.) thanks to the skills acquired (knowledge of art history, foreign language skills, academic-level written and oral expression, ability to problematize and synthesize).
Students are supervised by the department's teacher-researchers.
Depending on their field of research and specialization, they propose research themes and/or topics, and supervise students as they write their dissertations.
The dissertation for the History, Techniques and Theory of the Visual Arts course is defended no later than the end of the fourth semester.
