Master of Philosophy

UGA Master of Philosophy benefits from its size, favorable to interaction, individualized support from a team of teacher-researchers who are present and committed to students, and good working conditions in the UFR ARSH premises, close to the documentation, in the exceptional setting of the Grenoble campus.
It trains students in the art of argumentation, through the preparation of a two-year dissertation, and enables them to benefit from the ongoing research of team members and the activities of theGrenoble Institute of PhilosophyOur research center prepares them either for further study, or for professional integration based on the skills they have acquired.

Framing

The Master of Philosophy is based on the IPhiG laboratory (Institut de Philosophie de Grenoble) to offer students a broad approach to current research practices in philosophy.
Most of the Master's teachers are members. 
IPhiG aspires to constantly renew its questioning by opening it up to contemporary methods and themes around language, cognition and social practices, which today articulate the fields of ethics, science and politics.  

Skills of philosophy graduates

In terms of professional skills, students acquire mastery of the rules of writing and argument, developed analytical and synthesis skills, and the ability to formulate and solve complex theoretical problems. 
They are open to a variety of contemporary philosophical practices; they master the translation of texts belonging to the canonical corpus of philosophy and that of contemporary exegesis; they are able to grasp in concrete terms the demands of collective research and the life of a laboratory.
All the qualities needed by an executive, whether in the local or national civil service or in a private company.
