The double bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Classics is a top-notch program that enables motivated students with good work skills to acquire and master the fundamentals of two disciplines.
This is a double curriculum organized jointly by UFR ARSH (Arts and Human Sciences) and UFR LLASIC (Language, Literature and Performing Arts, Information and Communication).
This dual curriculum enables students to benefit from excellent training, providing them with a solid bi-disciplinary culture that will facilitate and broaden their opportunities for further study, and help them succeed in competitive teaching exams, thanks to the skills they acquire: logic, argumentation, analytical and synthesis skills, method and rigor, writing skills, a critical mind, general culture, curiosity, autonomy, adaptability, etc.
The double bachelor's degree gives all students a solid disciplinary training in philosophy and the humanities.
Philosophy courses cover all the fundamental areas of philosophical thought: political and moral philosophy, philosophy of knowledge and science, philosophy of language, logic, aesthetics, and the history of philosophy (ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary). The aim is to provide students with the conceptual tools they need to think about the world in which we live.
Classics combines French, Latin and Ancient Greek, each studied as a language and as a vehicle for literature. This multi-disciplinary training provides a sound knowledge of the foundations of our culture, as well as methods for text analysis, literary commentary and translation.
Organization
The timetable is designed to enable students to take all the basic courses for the 2 bachelor's degrees, so that they can obtain 2 diplomas at the end of the 3 validated years.
After completing the first, second or fourth semester, you can switch to either of the single-discipline bachelor's degrees.
