The History of Art and Archaeology / Classics double degree
Presentation
This double degree gives students a solid grounding in Art History and Archaeology and Classics:
Art history studies plastic works produced (but also conceptual) throughout history: architecture, sculpture, painting, photography, installations, performances, decorative arts, ornaments and clothing.
Archaeology is the study, in context, of man-made remains and traces of human existence, in the hope of gaining a better understanding of the human past (from prehistory to the present day).
Classics combines French, Latin and Ancient Greek, each studied as a language and as a vehicle for literature. This multi-disciplinary training provides a sound knowledge of the foundations of our culture, as well as methods for text analysis, literary commentary and translation.
Organization
This double degree course is jointly organized by the ARSH (Arts and Humanities) and LLASIC (Language, Literature and Performing Arts, Information and Communication) UFRs, the flexible timetable enables students to follow all the core courses of the 2 bachelor's degrees, and thus obtain 2 diplomas at the end of the 3 validated years.
After completing the first, second or fourth semester, you can switch to either of the single-discipline bachelor's degrees.
