History students re-enact Galileo's trial at university
Thirty-seven students in Licence 3 History underwent a creative experience through the re-enactment of Galileo's trial this Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
The aim of this creative reconstruction is to appropriate knowledge in new ways and put into practice the rich history of scientific controversy
Students in the "History of science and knowledge from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment" course at theUFR Arts and Humanities (ARSH) are divided for the occasion into three groups: Galileo's defenders, his opponents, and the members of the jury of the Holy Roman Inquisition.
Using VIP cards from the serious game Le Bus à l'envers "Gilles Montègre, lecturer and researcher at UFR ARSH,Université Grenoble Alpes , and trained in creativity methods by Promising, asks students to immerse themselves in a character to imagine their pitch.
This re-enactment is taking place for the third year running atUniversité Grenoble Alpes , and for the first time in the new premises of the Maison de la Création et de l'Innovation (MaCI).
