Students with disabilities

The Service accueil handicap welcomes, advises and provides individualized support to all students with disabilities, whether or not they are recognized by the MDPH (the French departmental office for disabled people) or have health problems. This service is available on the Grenoble, Valence and Vienne campuses.

IMPORTANT
You are at the heart of the system: it is your request for accommodation that triggers the support process. Here are the steps to follow.

Accommodation requests for the 1st semester 2025-2026 must be made from August 18 for new students.
The accommodation request is valid for the academic year only. You must enter your accommodation request each year to obtain accommodations.

Students with disabilities

  • STEP 1: submit your request for accommodation for the academic year to the Service Accueil Handicap (SAH)
For students already being monitored by the SAH: you need to renew your accommodation request only via the personalized link sent to you by e-mail. It's essential to use this personalized link, as it allows you to renew your accommodations and keep better track of your situation.
For a first accommodation request: the form is available on this page
  • STEP 2: Obtain a medical opinion from the university doctor
You will need to make an appointment with a university doctor approved by the MDPH to validate your entry into the disability scheme and seek medical advice. If you already have a medical opinion valid for the entire training cycle, this step is not necessary.
For your medical appointment :
- Have first submitted your accommodation request
- Bring your medical file and, if possible, your previous accommodation notifications.
To make an appointment in Grenoble :
Contact the Grenoble University Health Center
  • STEP 3: Get your support plan
Following your appointment with a doctor at the health center, a medical opinion is sent to the SAH. Once the document has been received, the SAH studies your request and contacts you by e-mail about your Plan d'Accompagnement de l'Étudiant en situation de Handicap (PAEH). This support plan sets out proposed adjustments to examinations and the curriculum, based on medical advice and an assessment of the needs and difficulties encountered in your studies*.
  • STEP 4: forward your PAEH to your school and obtain notification of the accommodation decision.
The director of your school, faculty or institute will decide on the examination accommodations to be granted, according to the possibilities offered by the study regulations, and will notify you of his or her decision.
At the same time, we advise you to communicate your PAEH to your teachers (in the 1st and 2nd semesters), so that it can be taken into account. If necessary, you can also send your PAEH to the Service des Langues (SDL), the Service des Enseignements Transversaux (SETI) and the Service des Sports (SUAPS).
ATTENTION: you must inform your disability advisors, teachers and school administrators as soon as possible of your needs and accommodations for continuous testing during the semester (computer, third-party time, secretary-writer, etc.).
