30 years of the ARSH building
On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the ARSH building celebrated its 30th anniversary!
Designed in 1995 by architects Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal, the ARSH is the first public building designed by these two architects, both winners of the 2021 Pritzker Prize.
And to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our faculty, NKDM, a visual artist, painter, and sculptor from Grenoble, has created a work of art tailored to the setting of our building.
Accompanied by four of our art history students who brilliantly acted as mediators (Nina Adamiak, Olivia Debugny, Nina Cheghol, and Arcana Clette), NKDM presented "L'élan" (The Momentum), a 22 x 1 m mural installed in the lobby of our university department.
Through these nine panels composed of colorful abstract shapes arranged vertically, this work invites mental and physical rest.
For NKDM, "The expected goal of this installation, in addition to bringing color, life, and joy to everyday life, is also to create a serene, lively atmosphere conducive to concentration through the choice of shapes and colors."
